What makes you feel most beautiful?

"I feel most beautiful after a blowout. It is one of my guilty pleasures to sit and let someone transform my hair. There's something about having my waves tamed that makes me glow, gives me more confidence to take on the world.
My other beautiful moment comes when I see my husband with that look of contentment, knowing that he loves me for me "with all my curves and edges" (John Legend). My life is beautiful.
After I got my MBA, I declared that entrepreneurship was not for me. I was going to be happy simply working for others. Ha! This year I launched with my co-founder, Lori Shen, my own company, She Lives Aloha. I took three decades worth of knowledge and shipped our first subscription box."

What is your favorite part of owning your own business?

"What I love most about being my own boss is that I get to pull it all together (literally, including packing all the boxes). I control the brand and the bottom line. Owning my own company also allows me to put forth the Owning my own company allows me to put forth the values I care most about, one of which is 'Ohana Tops Everything.'

My family is at the heart of everything I do. It took luck and science to deliver three beautiful children; spending time with them is essential to all of our well-being. That said, your ohana also includes your work family, so some days work comes first. I love being able to shape my future as well as the next generation's."
